Procedent dels vessants del Vesuvi a Pompeia, The Ne-21 és una creació de Lino Monaco i Nicola Buono, més coneguts com els fundadors del duet electrònic Retina.it. Inspirant-se en els moviments britànics new-wave, electrònics i post-punk, citant influències com Clock DVA, Cabaret Voltaire i Human League, The Ne-21 combina magistralment atmosferes de ciència-ficció amb lletres inspirades en grans de la literatura com J. G. Ballard. i P.K. Dick.
Després de llançar una col·laboració amb Donato Dozzy el 2021 amb el projecte ‘Men with Secrets’, el duet va fer onades amb el llançament del seu àlbum “In the Realm of Electricity”, sota el segell italià She Lost Kontrol.
El conjunt en directe del Ne-21 inclou no només Nicola Buono i Lino Monaco, sinó també Marco Brunasso (LEHAVRE), les contribucions del baix elèctric del qual afegeixen una capa addicional de profunditat sonora a les seves actuacions.

Hailing from the slopes of Vesuvius in Pompeii, The Ne-21 is the brainchild of Lino Monaco and Nicola Buono, best known as the founders of the electronic duo Retina.it. Drawing inspiration from the British new-wave, electronic, and post-punk movements, citing influences like Clock DVA, Cabaret Voltaire, and the Human League, The Ne-21 masterfully blends sci-fi atmospheres with lyrics inspired by literary greats like J. G. Ballard and P. K. Dick.
After releasing a collaboration with Donato Dozzy in 2021 with the project ‘Men with Secrets’, the duo made waves with the release of their album “In the Realm of Electricity,” under the Italian label She Lost Kontrol.
The Ne-21’s live ensemble includes not only Nicola Buono and Lino Monaco but also Marco Brunasso (LEHAVRE), whose electric bass contributions add an extra layer of sonic depth to their performances.
