OMBRA és un projecte que neix de la mà de dos melòmans malenconiosos que no trobaven al seu voltant cap lloc on poder compartir i gaudir de la passió que els unia.

En el seu afany per trobar l’escenari perfecte van topar amb un espai idoni que semblava complir tot allò que s’havien imaginat però, encara que aquest va albergar l’essència del temple que buscaven durant dos anys, els va ser finalment arrabassat per l’establishment que no va permetre que continuessin allí les seves aventures.

Així va ser com després de dos llargs anys a la recerca de l’Arca perduda van trobar amb el que probablement sigui l’espai arquitectònic més industrial i gegantí de Barcelona: l’antiga fàbrica Enmasa, Empresa Nacional de Motors d’Aviació, un edifici emblemàtic que forma part de la rica història de la ciutat. Obra de l’arquitecte Robert Terrades es troba al perifèric barri de Sant Adrià i va ser construït entre els anys 1940 i 1975 seguint els cànons estètics del moviment modern i racionalista que van modelar la seva estructura i el van dotar d’una sòbria i aclaparadora magnificència.

OMBRA is a project born from two melancholic music lovers who could not find anywhere around them where they could share and enjoy the passion that united them.

In their eagerness to find the perfect setting, they came across an ideal space that seemed to fulfil everything they had imagined but, although it housed the essence of the temple they were looking for for two years, it was finally taken away from them by the establishment, which did not allow them to continue their adventures there.

So it was that after two long years in search of the “lost Ark” they came across what is probably the most industrial and gigantic architectural space in Barcelona: the former Enmasa factory, Empresa Nacional de Motores de Aviación, an emblematic building that forms part of the city’s rich history. Designed by the architect Robert Terrades, it is located in the outlying district of Sant Adrià and was built between 1940 and 1975 following the aesthetic canons of the modern and rationalist movement, which moulded its structure and endowed it with a sober and overwhelming magnificence.

Aquesta troballa ha permès que aquest any, una vegada més, Ombra pugui continuar sent un lloc de trobada per a aquests amants dels sons analògics i la música d’avantguarda. D’aquesta manera i durant tres dies, les portes s’obriran per albergar sota el sostre el mode de vida alternatiu d’una comunitat que es vol retrobar a si mateixa a través de l’art, el ball i l’experiència.

Amb aquesta premissa com a objectiu, des d’Ombra es pretén incentivar la convivència entre creadors i públic, generant sinergies que fomentin el debat i l’intercanvi entre professionals del sector de la indústria discogràfica, artistes i col·lectius locals, nacionals i internacionals, a través de l’entreteniment, networking, aprenentatge i inspiració.

La proposta musical busca unir en un mateix cartell tant figures llegendàries ja assentades de la història de la música electrònica (normalment fora del contingut dels festivals a l’ús) juntament amb altres projectes nous i sorprenents perquè el balanç entre tots dos potenciï l’experiència musical del nostre públic.

This discovery has once again allowed Ombra to continue to be a meeting place for lovers of analogue sounds and avant-garde music. In this way, and for three days, its doors will open to house under its roof the alternative way of life of a community that wants to rediscover itself through art, dance and experience.

With this premise as an objective, Ombra aims to encourage coexistence between creators and the public, generating synergies that foster debate and exchange between professionals from the recording industry, local, national and international artists and collectives, through entertainment, networking, learning and inspiration.

The musical proposal combines in the same line-up both legendary figures already established in the history of electronic music (normally outside the content of the usual festivals) together with other new and surprising projects so that the balance between the two enhances the musical experience of our audience.
